Tax incentives lure 1,370 new jobs to Colorado

COLORADO – State tax incentives are luring companies to beef up their work forces in Colorado. The Colorado Economic Development Commission just approved applications from seven companies to step up hiring in Colorado in exchange for tax benefits. Combined, these companies will create around 1,370 new jobs.

While most of the companies are opting to remain anonymous so far, two of the companies that are expanding are Avitus and Unify Energy Systems. Avitus, a human resources management company, plans to move its headquarters to Aurora and hire an additional 128 people. In return for its expansion plans, Avitus will earn $320,000.

Meanwhile, Unify Energy Systems is planning to grow its workforce in Thornton, creating 50 jobs. Unify Energy Systems provides building automation services and systems to manage energy use.
